1) What is HD Brows?
Taking between 30-45 minutes, the HD Brows treatment creates a bespoke brow, tailored exclusively for you. Starting with a consultation, your Stylist will assess your brows and face shape to design your HD Brows. The next stages of the treatment consist of tinting, waxing, threading and plucking, with Stylists using a specially designed formula to give you perfectly defined brows. To finish, your Stylist will use HD make up to complete and refine the brow area. You will leave with brows groomed to perfection and of course, an HD Brows addict!
2) My brows are so over-plucked and sparse – can I still get HD Brows?
Even if you have sparse brow areas, hope is not lost! Our expert Stylists will work with you on a re-growth programme to achieve the perfect brow shape for you. In the meantime, you can ‘fake it to make it’ with a little make up application, demonstrated by your local Stylist. Our Lash&Brow Booster will encourage and improve hair growth, apply twice a day to see the best results.
3) How much are HD Brows?
The treatment price starts from £25 and varies depending on if you have the full HD Brow treatment or just one part of the HD process. A full HD Brows appointment can take around 45-minutes, with expert and precise detailing to guarantee you a bespoke brow every time and you are paying for this expertise.
4) How often should I have the HD Brows treatment?
Regrowth differs between individuals, but we would usually recommend having the HD Brows treatment every 4-6 weeks.
5) Are HD Brows suitable for me?
We recommend that you visit your local HD Brows Stylist for a one on one consultation; they will be able to advise the best course of action for your brows, provide you with a patch test and arrange an appointment.
6) Why do you have to tint the brows?
We use tint in the HD Brows treatment to enhance the natural hairs of the brow. The tint can often pick up any downy hairs or any regrowth that will furthermore help design a desired shape. Sometimes the client can look like they have nothing to work with, but once you’ve had the tint applied, there can be lots of hair showing that you haven’t seen before. You may have seen one of our brow ‘before and after’ images and found the amount of hair suddenly appearing hard to believe – tinting is the secret behind this!
7) Can you have the HD Brows treatment if you are pregnant or breast-feeding?
We know you mum’s-to-be want to keep your brows in check, but we encourage clients to skip the tint during this time, as a reaction from the tint is more likely to occur due to hormonal changes. If a reaction did occur, a pregnant client would be unable to take medication as this may harm the baby.
8) I’m currently pregnant/ breastfeeding/ under 16 years old, does this mean I can no longer have HD Brows treatments?
You can still have HD Brows treatments but you will not be tinting during your treatments.
9) I am pregnant/ breastfeeding/ under 16 but I still really want the tint, can I still have the tint if I sign some sort of consent form?
No, your HD Brows Stylist is a trained professional and they are obligated to adhere to manufacturer’s guidelines, they cannot go against them even with consent from the customer. Remember this is for your safety. Ask your Stylist to teach you how to use the Brow Colourfix to recreate that freshly tinted look at home, without the risk.
10) Do I still have to do a patch test?
No, although this is usually a mandatory step for HD Brows, you do not have do a patch test if you’re not being tinted.
11) Will I receive a discount for my treatments since I’m not being tinted?
Remember that the cost of your treatment reflects the time and skills of your Stylist, as well as the products used, and they are likely to still take the same amount of time to complete your treatment, as they will need to spend more time finishing your brows than usual while they recreate that freshly tinted look using the HD Brow Make Up alone. As such, there is no need for them to reduce their pricing in this situation, however it is at the discretion of the Stylist to make this decision.
12) Can I just go to another Stylist for HD Brows?
All certified HD Brows Stylists will be aware of this update and are obligated to follow the new policy from the 2nd May 2017. If your Stylist is not following this update, double check on our salon finder to ensure they’re actually trained and certified to offer HD Brows®. In the end, this update is for your safety and following it even at the risk of losing clients just proves how much your Stylist cares for your wellbeing – loyal clients should respect that.
13) Does this affect the other tinting treatments I go in for?
We have been advised that similar guidelines are in place amongst most tints and dyes in the market, however, this policy is only for HD Brows treatments. Please check with your Stylist regarding the other tint and dye services that they offer.
14) Will this update apply forever?
We are continuously working on improving our services and products. If this policy or our tint products change in the future, we will update everyone promptly.
15) How has this update been communicated?
Information from HD “We have announced these updates to all of our HD Account Holders and added this policy to the footer of our website for the next 12 months. Additionally, our training literature and support materials for the HD Brows treatment (such as Client Record Cards) have been updated to reflect these updates.” Your salon will have been informed and will notify you of the changes.
16) I’ve been using a sun bed and/or fake tan – can I still have the treatment?
Step away from the sunbeds and put the tan down! It is recommended that clients avoid high sun exposure for 48-hours before and after the treatment. This is to reduce the risk of reactions, soreness and dry/cracked skin. If mixed with tanning products (including tinted moisturiser) the tint will turn green, so we do not advise the use of tanning products prior to treatment.
17) How long does tint last?
This can vary on different people, but normally tint will last 2-3 weeks. In between treatments, our Brow Colourfix can be used for an everyday tint to keep them looking groomed and neatly defined.
18) Does waxing hurt?
There is always some pain with wax, however we do stretch the skin to minimise the risk of tearing and remove the wax in small strips, so the wax removal is efficient but quick. We always perform a heat test as well so that the wax won’t burn. Of course everybody has different pain thresholds!
19) Why do you wax and thread?
Each hair removal technique has a specific purpose. The waxing removes unwanted hair from around the brow shape, whereas threading blends in the waxed area with the other downy hairs on the face to avoid harsh lines as well as to take further hairs closer to the shape. Tweezing can then remove individual hairs to really create that perfect, HD Brows shape.
20) Can men get HD Brows?
Men can have HD Brows. Some men will want them more defined, some won’t. In the waxing stage your Stylist will probably not get as close to the shape of the brow as they would for a female client. Also, when tweezing the hairs, the technique of plucking one then miss one will be used so they are not as defined. Often with men, it is more of a tidy up rather than designing a shape.
